Search enforcement & appraiser records

What we have on this site today: Commerce enforcement actions against real estate licensees (2010 to now), and the state-credentialed appraiser registry. Searches are anonymous and never stored. We do notyet have the salesperson/broker license roster; that status check is Step 2 below, on the state's own lookup, until our public-records request arrives.

Step 1 of 2: on this site

Search enforcement actions and appraiser credentials

Checking an appraiser rather than an agent? The appraiser license lookup searches the same registry and explains what each credential type allows its holder to value.

Step 2 of 2: on the state's site (required for salespersons and brokers)

Check salesperson or broker license status off-site

Commerce publishes no bulk roster of salesperson and broker licenses, so live Active/Expired status for those license types still lives on the state's own lookup. We have a standing Minnesota Government Data Practices Act request in with Commerce for the full licensee dataset; when it arrives, Step 2 moves onto this page. Until then:

  1. Open the state's license search at pulseportal.com.
  2. Choose Minnesota Department of Commerce as the program and Real Estate as the board.
  3. Click Search Licensee, enter the last and first name, and check that the license shows Active and the type you expect (salesperson or broker).
  4. Come back and run the same name through Step 1 above; a clean license can still have an order history.
